Season 9, Episode 187 “ We've only just begun - Pt. 1,2 & 3” – (November Sweeps)

The Scavo house was silent. Lynette was drinking coffee at the kitchen table with porter next to her. Julie and Jordan were on the couch holding hands. The silence was broken when Tom burst in the front door. Lynette got up and began to cry. “I grabbed the next plane out of New York… Have we heard anything?” Tom grabbed Lynette and pulled her in for a hug. The hug was broken when detective clement came down the stairs. Everyone stood up at the same time. “We have fingerprints from the railing of the crib, we won’t know till later, but were going to take everyone’s prints here so we can rule you all out and see if there is a print of someone not in this room…” everyone looked at one another.
Bree sat at the police station, twiddling her fingers. A police officer walked up handing her an envelope. “It’s clean Mrs. Weston; do you think this Sam guy is trying to hurt you in anyway?” Bree looked down at the opened envelope. “ We've had a, um, difficult past.” Bree stood up to shake his hand. “If you need further assistance you know where to reach us…” Bree just smiled at the officers comment and walked out of the station. When she got to the steps she opened the letter and read it. When she was finished she pulled out her cell phone and dialed.
Julie and Jordan got back to the motel they were staying at, not saying a word to each other. “Here, take the keys…I’ll go check the mail.” Julie said. Jordan walked the opposite way to the room, as Julie entered the office. When she stopped at the desk she cleared her throat a few times then tapped the bell. Still nobody came to help her. She was ready to just call it quits when something caught her eye. On the Guest check in sheet she recognized a name “Kayla Scavo” Julie began to run and get Jordan, but instead she stopped, turned around, and looked at the sheet again. Using her index finger she slid across the sheet to the room Kayla was staying in. She looked around to see if anyone was near, then reached over and grabbed the key. The door slowly opened and Julie flipped the light on. Nobody was around but there was still luggage on the bed. Julie searched the room for any clues and found nothing. Disappointed she sat on the bed and began to cry.
Bree was sipping her tea do to it still being extremely hot. She was focused on what was going on outside the coffee shop that she didn't see Sam walk in. He sat down across from her. “Hello Bree.” This time Bree nodded with a “Hello Sam” she sipped her tea again. “Well Sam you wanted to talk, so please…talk.” Sam readjusted himself on the chair. “I want to sell you your business back, for a reasonable price.” They just sat there for a moment. “Was I right Sam, are you drowning in debt and despair?” Bree said this managing to keep a straight face. “I see it’s not time to talk about this… well you have my number, if it’s something you want to do please, call me.” Sam got up from the table. As Bree watched him walk away she couldn't help but notice the holes in his sneakers.
Julie started to collect herself. After wiping her tears from her face she stood up and headed for the door. Flipping the light off, she slowly closed the door… Suddenly the door stopped and opened wide again. Julie flipped the lights on and ran towards the luggage. She slowly unzipped it and threw it open. Julie fumbled through the heaps of clothes and hair products and still came up short. She started to lose hope when she reached into the front flap and pulled out a handful of pictures. Julie covered her mouth as she looked through them. They were of Lynette, with doodles of knives through her and the words “Get even” marked all over them. Julie found what she was looking for and ran from the room. She missed the hand that almost grabbed her ankle from underneath the bed. As soon as the room was clear, Kayla ran out of it and into the next room over that she hid the girls in.
Kayla put them in the car and strapped them in. before she left she jumped into Julie’s car and pushed the hood button… After a handful of wires, Kayla shut the hood and made her way back to her car and sped off into the night.
Julie ran into her room making Jordan jump up from the chair. “Jordan! We need to get back to Fairview.” In an instant they were both running from the room and to the car. Jordan tries to start it then jumps out. Julie dials a number on her cell phone. “Hey Porter, It was Kayla, Kayla took the kids.” It only took that sentence for Porter to hang up in a hurry. Jordan hopped in the car and looked at Julie. “Well let’s go!” Julie exclaimed. “We’re not going anywhere… someone sabotaged the wiring.” Jordan said this as he pulled her into a hug.
Porter ran up to the door and banged on it. Bree opened the door looking tired yet concerned. “Can I talk to Trip?” Bree still half asleep answered, “Trip is out on business… Porter what’s wrong?” Porter looked around not knowing what to do. Bree smiled as if she understood. “Andrew is at the office, go seek advice from him, trip has told taught him everything he knows.” And with that Porter started to run off the porch “Oh Porter…” He turned back to Bree. “You’re going to need to take the car if you want to get there dear.” Bree threw the keys at him. With that he was off again.
As Porter was running, he passed Lee who crossed the street and hung a “For Sale” sign in the front yard. Lee always checked over the houses before he sold them and Karen & Roy’s house was no exception. Lee walked into a dark house with the furniture covered in white sheets. He couldn't help but smile when he thought of Karen. She after all was the feistiest elderly woman he’s ever met. He searches throughout the house and nods in approval. Lee sets for the door till he hears a noise from upstairs. Slowly ascending the steps the noise has stopped. Kayla is in the hall closet with the babies holding one while the other sits on the floor in the car seat. Lee was creeping slowly past the door. Kayla was holding onto a baseball bat she found. Lee shifted his focus on the closet door. His hand reached out and grabbed the knob. Kayla squeezed the bat, ready to swing, when a voice shouted up from down stairs. Lee recognized the voice to be Bob’s and rushed down.
Bree was heating water on the stove when her doorbell sounded. She was surprised to see Sam on the other side. “And to what do I owe the pleasure of this visit Sam?” after asking him this Bree thought Sam would have had his usual snotty attitude, instead he looked up at Bree with tears in his eyes. “I have nothing Bree, no parents, no business, no money… I have nothing.” Bree took a few moments and decided to invite him in.
Gaby was getting the girls ready for bed, when her phone started to vibrate. She answered the phone while picking up clothes and tossing them into a laundry basket. “Hello….this is her… yes but I was…. Lazaro!” There was a click on the other line. Gaby put the basket on the floor and hung up as well. Carlo’s was picking up toys when Gaby came down the stairs. Carlo’s looked at her. “Who was that?” Gaby stuttered a little but managed to get out… “Uh Cumberly’s.” Carlo’s waited for more… “ OK?” Gaby looked teary eyed. “I was just fired.”
The closet door opened and Kayla peeked around the corner. She pulled on the car seat and held Sophie, when a box fell from the top shelf of the closet. Kayla flipped the light on and saw a gun lying there. She looked scared but picked it up and tucked it into her pants. Kayla laid the girls down and pulled the curtains shut. But not before looking up and down the street to see if anyone might see her. She then pulled the sheet off the couch and laid down pulling the sheet over her.
It isn't easy giving up power, admitting that we might need help from friends and neighbors, deciding that a loved one might know what's best for us, giving up our better judgment for a slightly darker agenda, but for some... the hardest kind of power to give up is the power to control their own desires.”
Porter arrives at the lawyer’s office and can’t find Andrew. He sits in the waiting room and holds his head in his hands.
“Nobody on the lane was going to sleep very well tonight…” Bree and Sam talked at the table, as time seemed to pass, Porter waited for Andrew at the office, Julie talked with the police who had arrived to witness the things she had found and Kayla feeling scared and guilty couldn't sleep a wink.In life we all make plans, but sometimes they don't turn out the way we expected.”
“Hey Renee it’s Lee…” Renee rolled her eyes, yet was still able to force a fake smile, even though she was on the phone. Lee had asked her to head over to McCluskey’s old place and see what she could do with it as far as taking the old out of it and making it sell-able for someone new. Renee reluctantly accepted lee’s proposal and headed out the door. On her way to the house Renee see’s Tom and Lynette on the porch hugging in silence, she sees Gaby braiding Juanita’s hair as Carlo’s sips lemonade. She sees Bree and Sam step out onto the porch in deep conversation. Renee smiled as the sun shined on her face and the wind blew through her hair. By the time she stepped up to the porch and entered the house she was rejuvenated and ready to change the house.
Renee entered the house with a less pleased look on her face. Swiping the door side table she shook her head at the dust that gathered on her finger. She headed for the stairs when she heard a noise come from the living room. Slowly turning the corner she spotted both children on the floor and Kayla fast asleep on the couch. Renee took extra caution when backing away and out the door. Renee ran across the street while on her cell phone with the police. Lynette and Tom stood up with looks of horror on their faces as Renee pointed to the house.
Porter’s phone rang and in an instant he was upset. He quickly hung up and called Julie. “Hello…” Julie answered. “Kayla Scavo…” Porter was able to get out before he was interrupted. “I already know the police are here looking for clues.” Julie stopped. “Oh wait Porter your mom is calling me…” Porter quickly jumped back into the conversation. “Yea and I know why…” Julie looked terrified and relived after porter told her they knew where Kayla and the girls were. Porter hung up the phone and headed for the door, when Andrew walked in. Not giving Andrew a chance to say anything he grabbed him “Let’s go! We’re taking your car!”
As Porter and Andrew sped onto the lane, the squealing of the tires grabbed the attention of everyone outside. Renee runs across the street to meet them at the front of the house, when Karen’s cat Toby runs in front of the car. Andrew yells and swerves to miss Toby and heads for Renee. As Renee is still and caught in the moment the car speeds closer towards her she sees her life begin to flash before her eyes. Then she feels a heavy jolt and screams. When Renee hears the sound of a crashing car she opens her eyes and realizes the man on the porch with Bree has knocked her out of the way of the oncoming car. Both Porter & Andrew flee from the car. Porter heads straight for the front door while Andrew heads over to Renee.
When Porter entered the home he was confronted with Kayla. Porter looks over at the babies and looks back to Kayla. Then without words Porter charges at Kayla, knocking her to the floor. They both roll around and throw punches, till Kayla pulls the gun from her pocket and fires it at the ceiling. The sound of the gun echoes out of the house and fills the lane. Andrew jumped up, leaving Renee, Sam and Bree on the side of the road. He ran up the stairs and kicked the door in. as he rounded the corner he came face to face with Kayla and her gun. Without warning Kayla pulls the trigger. In slow motion Porter tackles Kayla as Andrew falls to the floor. Dead.
Within the last hour Kayla was escorted away in a police car, Julie was holding Sophie and Lynette had Paige. And Bree was crying over a stretcher that carried Andrew Van De Kamp. Her son, her employee, her life…
